Ötscher Base Nature Park Centre, Ötscher Adventure Tower
Description
Ideally located between Mariazellerbahn and Ötschergräben, Wienerbruck has developed over many years into the most popular entry point to the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park.
Since 2015, the Ötscher Base has been the new nature park center here. It houses a restaurant with a lake terrace and a store. Outdoors, there are beautifully designed places to linger and play. The Ötscher-Basis is also an information center and starting point for excursions in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park. Hikes and explorations start from here, accompanied by more than 70 nature mediators who have been specially trained.
The Ötscher Tower
The roof terrace gives a wonderful overview of the Ötscher base, reservoir and the surrounding terrain. The flying classroom offers seminars and programs where research can be done. The final nature workshop with outdoor class invites you to immerse yourself in the local flora and fauna.
Regional and grilled food
In the restaurant of the Ötscher base, located directly at the Wienerbruck reservoir, you will be spoiled with regional and seasonal dishes. For example with sheep cheese from Annaberg, game from the ÖTSCHER:REICH and beer from Gaming. Depending on the weather, you can find a place on the lakeside terrace or warm up at the stove in the spacious guest room.
Inspired by the shape of the old chimneys on the Iron Road, the Ybbsitz metal artist Joe Wahler and the Vorarlberg designer Robert Rüf created with the Ötscher:Grill not only an artistic combination of nature and technology, but also a place of conviviality. At the Ötscher:Grill you prepare your own food. The corresponding ingredients are prepared by the hosts of the Ötscher-Basis according to your wishes.
Further Ötscher:Grills are available at the Schutzhaus Vorderötscher, at the Anna Alm near Annaberg, in Lackenhof at the Ötscherschutzhaus and at the Erlebnisdorf Sulzbichl.
